The National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) presented a panel discussion on “The Right to Photograph & Record on the Ground and in the Air” at the National Press Club on Tuesday, October 20, as part of Free Speech Week. This event was free and open to the public.

The expert panel examined constitutional questions (i.e. search and seizure, etc.) as well as offered informative practical advice regarding the best ways to handle these situations. Perspectives on privacy concerns, police bodycams and the latest legal updates on use of drones for newsgathering were also offered.
